Man Utd in Amorim talks as Ten Hag successor sought
Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim as they search for a successor to interim boss Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag is set to take over as head coach at Bayern Munich at the end of the season, leaving United in need of a new manager for next season.
Amorim, who has impressed during his time at Sporting, is seen as a potential candidate to take over at Old Trafford.
The Portuguese manager has led Sporting to the top of the Primeira Liga table and won the Taca da Liga this season.
United are said to be impressed with Amorim’s tactical acumen and ability to develop young players, making him an attractive option for the club.
However, negotiations between the two parties are said to be ongoing, with no deal yet in place.
United are keen to appoint a manager who can return the club to the top of English football and challenge for major trophies once again.
Amorim’s attacking style of play and ability to get the best out of his players could make him a good fit for the Red Devils.
It remains to be seen whether United will be able to secure the services of Amorim, but he is certainly a name to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
